A woman has shared a picture of stainless steel lunchbox being sold at a store in Europe, which is making people nostalgic.

One of the most important parts of our mighty school days was the lunchbox, but not any lunchbox. For us '90s kids, carrying a 'steel ka dabba' to school was an essential part of our young days.

Over the years, smart-looking plastic boxes have replaced the beloved dabbas, but a recent picture has been taking people on a pleasant stroll down memory lane.

Twitter user Madhura Rao shared a picture from her visit to a store in Europe where she surprisingly found a stainless steel lunchbox.

Got bullied in school for brining lunch in this only to find it being sold in hipster stores in Europe two decades later ? pic.twitter.com/2MPEhJk2gC

"Got bullied in school for bringing lunch in this only to find it being sold in hipster stores in Europe two decades later," Rao wrote as she shared the picture of the lunchbox.

In a subsequent tweet, Madhura responded to a user who was amazed by the fact that she was bullied for carrying a steel dabba.

This was 2002-2005, Bombay. The cool kids were switching from steel dabbas to colourful plastic ones or buying lunch from the canteen ?

Needless to say, the people were  nostalgic as they took to the comments section to share their memories.

You can get it in Sweden too! The superior way to bring lunch without everything blending and getting mushy (though I'd like one that was microwave safe) ?

Those are the best lunch boxes! They just had poor taste in life and at food ?

When I was little it was mostly a Boy Scout thing. It was way way cool

I love this lunch box....brings back memories.

This is the MOST Indian thing ever ?? so nostalgic ?

These are just awesome lunch containers. Best way to separate out the aloo, dhal and rice. Mine even came with a free stainless steel spoon!

Tiffin was special when it came in this.

Isme kya bully,,, there are the best and safest lunch box of all time. Steel > plastic

From stacks of steel vessels to smart-looking plastic boxes, the evolution of tiffin boxes has been enormous. Yet, with increasing health hazards from plastic containers and metals like aluminium or brass, steel lunchboxes continue to have their merits.

Stainless steel tiffins might not garner the same craze as they used to, but their amazing properties like compactness, the convenience of cleaning, and no chemical transferred into your food, still make them a great option.

Given the popularity of tiffin culture in India, steel ka dabbas still continue to gain favour - from working-class to snickering families on long train journeys. Long may it continue.
