Salt Lake City-On Monday, West High School in Salt Lake City was blocked due to alleged gun threats on social media.

Three students were detained during the threat investigation. The police initially claimed that only two students were detained.

Parents of students in this school shared a Snapchat screenshot. In the screenshot, it appears that someone is holding a gun and the location is marked as high school. The police could not find the weapon associated with the social media post.

The lock was lifted before 2 pm, and the Salt Lake City School District stated that all students are safe and the school will end at normal time.

The police said they detained one of the students and sent them to the Salt Lake Valley Detention Center. Another student was released to his parents and may still face charges, while the investigation of the third student is ongoing.

During the lock-in period, the class is still in class.

The blockade took place on the same day that several schools in Box Elder County switched to online learning due to threats. Except for the threats issued on social media, no details were disclosed.

A mother decided to let all the children trapped outside have a hot lunch across the street.

"They cheered. Half of them didn't believe it at first... I thought,'No, really, go'," said an anonymous parent who bought lunch for more than 20 students.

The mother of a second-year student in West High School chose to remain anonymous, but the children at the lunch place opposite the school wanted to share her good deeds through this news.

She has supported about 20 children and picked up a tag of more than $200.

"It's worth it. If I can't feed my daughter inside, I will at least treat the cold child outside," she said.

She is not the only parent on standby.

"I received a text message back saying:'Dad, we are blocked.' "You mean you are blocked? "It frightened me, so I left work immediately," said his parents Phil Baker.

Baker has twin boys who were also in the building during the lockdown.

"It's frustrating, it makes me angry, and it makes me scared. Thank God that nothing happened. I appreciate that, but who can say it didn't?" Baker said.

These parents are grateful that the students immediately shared this threat with the school... and the school did not delay taking action.

The mother, who did not want to be named, said: “This is not if, but when it will happen. As long as our school is ready to follow proper procedures, our children will be safe. Children are safe.” Need to be detained. Of people are being held, and I hope they get the help they need. We all went home today, so this is a victory. "
